of Tears |
Jaros pivots from his home base, a small studio tucked into the sylvan
beauty of the Shawnee National Forest. He can often be seen "at large,"
set up at various sidewalk locations throughout Southern Illinois with
his bench and sharp chisel, paring away at another marvelous sitting structure.

from the peripheral resources of the Shawnee forest . . .
WALNUT TREES:
 |
Grown in a fence row with nails in it. |
 |
Tall and spindly, blown down after logging plunder. |
 |
Died on hoof - solitary giants removed from the reach of big
buyers. |

These veritable morsels have no market value. They are the
LOST JEWELS OF SHAWNEE FOREST. |
